WORKSHOP

The Casual Host’s Path to Growth: Using Your First STR as a Launchpad

Discover how an everyday Airbnb host went from renting out a spare bedroom to developing a million‑dollar mountain cabin—one strategic move at a time. Jeff shares the simple, practical steps any casual owner can use to grow from a single listing into a stronger, more profitable short‑term rental portfolio.

SUMMARY

Not every host starts out as a real estate expert—or wants to be one. Many of us begin casually: renting out a guest room, a basement, or a family cabin. But even without going “all in,” there are smart, low‑effort strategies that can turn one vacation rental into two, or two modest properties into one high‑performing, premium asset.

In this session, Jeff breaks down the practical steps he used to grow from a casual host to the builder of a million‑dollar mountain cabin. He’ll cover how to understand your market, identify the right next property, use tools like 1031 exchanges to trade up, and make strategic decisions that compound over time. Attendees will walk away with a clear roadmap for scaling at their own pace—without needing to become full‑time investors.
